The 4th Language Learning and Teaching 2024 (ICOLLT 4.0), held in Hotel Perdana KLCC, Kuala Lumpur KLCC from May 20, 2024, to May 21, 2024 has been a great success. This international conference is hosted by the Centre for Modern Languages, University of Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA), in collaboration with the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Ahmad Dahlan (UAD), Indonesia, and the Faculty of Foreign Languages, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education (HCMUTE), Vietnam. It is also part of the Language Teaching and Learning Today, a conference series initiated by the Faculty of Foreign Languages, HCMUTE.
The changes and development of a society will affect the evolution of language and the field of education through a paradigm shift. As the realm of education evolves according to current technological developments, language educators and practitioners need to embrace these changes and perceive them as an attraction and a source of excitement to explore new possibilities, always trying to think outside the box.
ICOLLT 4.0 began with a plenary session with three experts led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nik Aloesnita binti Nik Mohd Alwi, Dean of the Centre for Modern Languages, Dr. Ikmi Nur Oktavianti from Universitas Ahmad Dahlan, Indonesia, and Dr. Nguyen Vu Thuy Tien from HCMC University of Technology and Education, Vietnam.
Under the theme Embracing Sustainable Development Goals in Teaching and Learning of Languages, the conference is an international cooperation platform for language practitioners, educators, and researchers to gather for discussions on transformative language education issues and approaches, as well as to expand networks while exploring innovative strategies within the scope of Sustainable Development Goals in language learning and teaching.
