Overview
Listening-Speaking 5 is designed for English majored students at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education, who are in the first semester of their third year, to achieve the upper-intermediate to advanced level of English listening and speaking skills, or level B2+ in the CEFR accordingly.
In particular, students will apply listening and note-taking strategies at B2+ level to comprehend, take notes and fulfill other listening tasks when they listen to 8-10 minute lectures about unfamiliar academic, social and natural science themes. At the same time, they can practice and enhance their presentation, discussion and debating skills through a variety of speaking activities about issues mentioned in the lectures or other related topics. Participating in these task-based activities with student-centered approach, they can also develop other skills such as predicting, infering, analyzing, synthesizing, prolem-solving, test-taking, teamworking, critical thinking and language learning. This helps students succeed not only at university but also in later life.
