After over a year of putting together all relevant documents and getting them properly organized, the Bachelor of Arts in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) underwent an AUN-QA assessment at the program level. The assessment of TESOL started on 29th of November and finished on 1st of December 2022 together with the assessment of other three programs at HCMC University of Technology and Education. This is the 305th assessment of AUN-QA and the second on-site assessment since the Covid pandemic. The assessment team consists of nine members, and two of them, Prof. Wan Ahmad Kamil Mahmood and Dr. Porngarm Virutamasen, are the assessors of the TESOL program. Numerous conversations about the design, delivery, development, and revision of the TESOL program were made between the assessors and program stakeholders. These dialogues were going very smoothly thanks to a very good preparation from HCMUTE staff members and a good command of English language from the stakeholders.

This assessment event marks a significant milestone for a 15-year journey of the TESOL program development and delivery. This is the first TESOL program in Ho Chi Minh City assessed by AUN QA. The assessment process successfully completed and shed light on several directions for improvement. The Faculty of Foreign Languages would like to express our sincerest appreciation to the significant contributions of employers, alumni, current students, supporting staff, and lecturers to the event. Here are some of the moments captured during the event.
