This is a foundational course for research conducting and reporting. Students are exposed to popular genres of research publications and a thorough procedure of conducting research. They need to come up with a research objective, review relevant literature, design instruments, collect primary data, identify the findings, and make concrete conclusions. Students have an opportunity to sharpen their skills in proposal writing, data analysis reporting, research ethics considering, and academic conventions observing. Other relevant skills to prepare for early-career researchers are also included. The course fosters students’ capability of independence in research activities to facilitate their learning quality and research motivation.

This course provides senior students with the opportunity to practice English-Vietnamese, Vietnamese-English translation at companies in need, thereby having the opportunity to experience the real working environment and obtain job skills needed to expand career opportunities. During the process, students will observe working process, conduct translation, report work, then learn to manage time effectively to meet job demands.

After Interpretation 1 and 2, Interpretation 3 continues developing students’ English-Vietnamese, Vietnamese-English interpretation skills at a more intensive level. On the development trend of society, the course focuses on fostering students’ background knowledge, cultural knowledge, English-Vietnamese, Vietnamese-English language skills regarding science and technology. By participating in classroom activities, students practice interpretation skills via clips and videos selected from diverse and authentic science and technology sources.

The course of Advanced English 2 is designed to enable English-majored students to obtain the C1 level of English proficiency. Particularly, students are provided with practical experiences on the four skills of English and international standardized tests (IELTS). The course also helps students develop their autonomy in learning as well as their ability to work in teams.
