Overview

The course of Advanced English 2 is designed to enable English-majored students to obtain the C1 level of English proficiency. Particularly, students are provided with practical experiences on the four skills of English and international standardized tests (IELTS). The course also helps students develop their autonomy in learning as well as their ability to work in teams.

G1

Develop background knowledge through listening, reading, writing and speaking activities

Develop the vocabulary and grammar structures through listening, reading, writing and speaking activities

Develop knowledge about strategies of listening, reading, writing and speaking in IELTS

G2

Apply listening strategies such as listening for general information, listening for gist, listening for details, attitudes of the speakers to obtain C1 level of the IELTS.

Apply reading strategies such as reading for main ideas, reading for details, inferencing to obtain C1 level of the IELTS.

Apply necessary elements such as vocabulary, structure, grammar, organization, etc. in writing essays of different types and describing charts and graphs of the IELTS (describing process diagrams and maps, writing advantages and disadvantages, problem-solution,  opinion, and discussion essays)

Apply speaking strategies to talk about familiar topics, deliver spontaneous talks and express opinions on a wide range of IELTS topics

Self-study to be successful at IELTS-format tests.
