Overview

This course aims at equipping third-year students who major in Translation and Interpretation with background knowledge of British literature and culture. In terms of cultural aspects, the students will look at the overview of factors such as geography, history and politics that have had impacts the foundation of British culture. The analysis of these factors will help the students understand more deeply and be able to explain cultural phenomena in the countries which have been significantly influenced by British culture. Regarding British literature, the students will be provided with the introduction to acclaimed literary works and authors within the context of the work. Based on their knowledge of culture and literature, the students will practice translating extracts from the literary works in order to have a better understanding of literary language and be able to translate literary works.

This course is designed to provide students with talks and lectures about academic and social and natural science topics, and opportunities to discuss/debate follow-up issues. Simultaneously, they can sharpen their critical thinking skills which help them to reason, analyze, synthesize, evaluate, debate, and solve problems. Besides, they have a chance to widen their knowledge of advanced vocabulary, pronunciation, and functional language, which can be used to enhance their English accuracy and fluency in group discussions, debates, informative presentations, proposal presentations, persuasive presentations, negotiations, and conflict management. The course also helps improve such important study skills as working in groups, note-taking, and comprehending long lectures, as well as test-taking skills. Khóa học Morphology-Syntax là khóa học dành cho sinh viên đại học đang theo đuổi chuyên ngành tiếng Anh. Mục đích của nó là cung cấp cho sinh viên kiến ​​thức nền tảng cần thiết để hiểu các thành phần ngữ pháp cốt lõi của ngôn ngữ và các khía cạnh thực tế của ứng dụng. Khóa học được chia thành hai phần: hình thái và cú pháp. Với tham chiếu đến Hình thái học, sinh viên sẽ nghiên cứu cấu trúc bên trong của các từ và mối quan hệ giữa các từ. Về cú pháp, sinh viên sẽ nghiên cứu cấu trúc bên trong của câu và mối quan hệ giữa các phần bên trong. Khóa học cũng phát triển kỹ năng thuyết trình của sinh viên và hợp tác làm việc nhóm.

Moreover, students are equipped with a system of English semantic concepts, terminology and study skills helping them enhance their foreign language capacity.
