Overview

The course of Reading 3 is designed to enable English-majored students to obtain academic reading skills at upper-intermediate level (equivalent to B2 - CEFR). Particularly, students are provided with critical reading skills as well as sub-skills through intensive and extensive reading. Reading and thinking critically through authentic readings are also included. Moreover, strategies for taking Reading section of FCE tests are introduced over the units so that students are familiarized with this international standardized test.

Specifically, the course helps students develop reading skills such as reading for main ideas, reading for detail information, distinguishing topic and key words, critical thinking skills, guessing meanings of words in context, and word analysis. In addition, the course offers students a chance to practise standardized PET exam  become familiar with the self-study and standardized PET exam format and provides important reading strategies and skills in preparation for FCE exam.
