Overview

Translation 2 Module is designed for third-year students. This course enables students to analyze, choose relevant translation methods, practice translating long texts of different types, discover and find ways to solve the difficulties that arise in the translation process. In addition, learners are provided with methods to exploit open-source resources and self-study methods to do group exercises and to translate for personal interests.

The module draws students closer to the real-world work environment in the future because this module gives learners access to documents of various functions that often appear in everyday life and academic life which require translation: advertising, regulations, product manuals, and professional articles.

Overview

After Interpretation 1 and 2, Interpretation 3 continues developing students’ English-Vietnamese, Vietnamese-English interpretation skills at a more intensive level. On the development trend of society, the course focuses on fostering students’ background knowledge, cultural knowledge, English-Vietnamese, Vietnamese-English language skills regarding science and technology. By participating in classroom activities, students practice interpretation skills via clips and videos selected from diverse and authentic science and technology sources.

Overview

The course is designed for English-majored students to enable them to obtain listening and speaking skills at higher pre-intermediate level (A2+). The course provides students with communicative actitivities based on contemporary topics such as presentation, simulation, debate, case study and public annoucements. Besides, academic skills, i.e. inferencing, consolidation, note-taking and exam taking skills are also emphasized to help students succeed academically.

Overview

 

The course is designed for junior students to introduce an overview of interpretation and consecutive interpreting, in particular, prominent theories and types of interpretation, especially emphasizing the code of ethics necessary for interpreters. In addition to theoretical knowledge, students will focus on practising the basic interpretation skills such as memorizing, taking notes, summarizing, etc. while interpreting sentences or short paragraphs (English and Vietnamese) with durations from 30 seconds to 01 minute on popular topics (education, culture, economy, society, science, etc.).
