Overview

The Morphology and Lexicology course provides students with basic concepts of words - the internal structure of words, how they are formed, their relationship to other words, and how they make up English vocabulary. The study of morphology and lexicology helps students comprehend the systematic ways in which the English words operate. By the end of this course, students will be able to guess the grammatical functions and meaning of words, support students in learning a language and utilize words effectively in communication.

 Understand basic concepts, and forms related to structures of English

 morphology & lexicology as well as common problems in English writing and

 speaking

 Understand the meaning of the word (denotation in dictionary), connotation,

 literal meaning and figurative meaning

 Understand the diversity as well as the characteristics of the variants and

 directions in English (British English, American English, English of the

 Australians) morphology, phonetics-phonology and grammar

 Understand the importance of English morphology and lexicology in teaching

 technical English as well as understand the relationship between language and

 language history - culture.

 Apply knowledge of morphology and vocabulary learning in communication

 (speaking and writing), as well as translation in technical English teaching.

 Has the ability to create new words and guess the meaning of the root word, the

 prefix and suffixes.

 meaning of morphological terms and vocabulary learned in English technical
