I. LEARNING OUTCOMES

1. Understanding basic knowledge of social sciences, natural sciences, and systematic knowledge of Technical English Translation and Interpretation

  • Presenting basic knowledge of social sciences and humanities as well as natural sciences to acquire professional education knowledge and meet the requirements of higher education.
  • Describing foundational knowledge of the English major and Technical English Translation and Interpretation, along with the basic characteristics of British-American, Southeast Asian cultures, literature, and intercultural communication.

2. Applying new knowledge based on analytical skills and critical thinking

  • Applying English language skills, as well as methods, techniques, and strategies for English-Vietnamese and Vietnamese-English translation and interpretation appropriately.
  • Collecting, analyzing, and refining information effectively, as well as applying new knowledge in English translation and interpretation practices.

3. Developing communication and teamwork skills effectively within and beyond professional contexts

  • Developing communication and presentation skills to work well in professional and non-professional contexts.
  • Enhancing teamwork skills and demonstrating professional behavior in multicultural work environments.

4. Forming ideas, designing, deploying, and applying knowledge and technology in Technical English Translation and Interpretation

  • Recognizing the role of English and English-Vietnamese, Vietnamese-English translation and interpretation in the era of globalization.
  • Identifying career goals and proposing plans to achieve those goals.
  • Designing processes for translation, editing, proofreading, and evaluating translation and interpretation products.
  • Designing and implementing effective processes for translation, editing, and product evaluation.
  • Evaluating the effectiveness of technology and applying it appropriately in Technical English Translation and Interpretation.

  • Graduate Internship (6 Credits): Practicum and Internship.

    • Technology-Aided Translation and Interpretation.
    • Technical Interpretation.

Elective Courses (6 Credits) (Students choose 2 courses)

  • Environmental Technology English OR Information Technology English.

III. GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Completing 132 credits, including compulsory and elective courses.
  • Achieving a minimum level of English language proficiency equivalent to C1 of CEFR.
  • Fulfilling National Defense Education requirements.
  • Meeting the required scores for Community and Social Work.
  • Completing all tuition fees.
