This year, we – lecturers and students from the Faculty of Foreign Languages – once again embarked on the Cultural Discovery Camp (CDC), a signature event of our faculty. Season 6 took us to Kien Giang University, and it was even more exciting with the participation of friends from Dong Thap University.
CDC has become a hallmark of the faculty not only because it has been held for several seasons, but also because of the enthusiastic participation of FFL students and the warm welcome from partner universities. Every camp offers a chance to learn, connect, and experience the unique culture of the region.
From November 28 to 30, our short but full program gave us countless memorable experiences. The lively campfire night, with crackling flames and cheerful chatter, helped break the ice and bring new friends together. Local students guided us through traditional cuisine, with every dish telling a story that made us appreciate the region even more.
We also visited Nguyen Trung Truc Temple to learn about the local history and traditions, and An Giang Museum, which impressed us with its distinctive architecture and rich cultural heritage. Every activity was a chance to practice teamwork, adaptability, and use English throughout the journey.
As part of the camp, students from all three universities formed groups to create videos capturing their own experiences. Each video reflected the creativity, collaboration, and spirit of the students.
After three days, we returned with valuable lessons about local culture, teamwork, and, most importantly, with memories that will last a lifetime. Though the journey ended, the joy of learning, exploring, and connecting with new friends will stay with us long after CDC Season 6.
