Overview
This course is intended to provide 4th year students with opportunities for real class observation and teaching practice, which helps them earn real-life English language teaching experience. Students are expected to apply ELT methodology they have learnt so far into the class teaching. Besides, this course also equips students with opportunities for observing classroom procedure, lesson planning, micro-teaching, actual lesson delivery and how to efficiently manage the classroom activities. In addition, further ESP teaching sessions are facilitated as well.

G1 | Fully understand the checklist for class observation on assessing performance of teachers/teacher trainees Apply ELT methodology for teaching language elements and language skills in actual classroom delivery Fully be aware of learners’ characteristics, and psychological traits as well as language class management. Firmly grasp structure and elements of an English lesson plan in general, as well as an ESP lesson plan and its procedure. |
G2 | Accurately assessing the lesson delivery of teachers and teacher trainees Successfully design an English lesson plan in accordance with appropriate method(s) and warm-up activities, main activities, closing activities for productive and receptive skills, aligned with aims and requirements of the lesson. Be able to conduct an English lesson according to communicative language teaching approach Implement and well combine ELT terminology and concepts. Be able to cooperate and collaborate with other team members in designing lesson plans and micro-teaching. Be able to reflect teaching-learning activities for self professional and pedagogical development. |
G3 | Demonstrate cooperation and support to team members during teaching practicum Exhibit progressive attitude, honesty in giving as well as in reception of comments and suggestions of professional teachers and cooperating teachers.
