Overview
This module is to help second-year translation students understand the basics of translation types, translation techniques and mistakes to be avoided. By the end of the course, students will be able to apply translation theory into practical exercises at gradual levels of improvement: practice translating basic sentence patterns, translating clause types and translating short informative paragraphs such as newsletters, articles, etc. on many different topics including culture, entertainment, basic science, tourism, etc. In addition, students will be able to translate standard texts, improve their reading comprehension ability and develop grammar knowledge, vocabulary, and rhetorical measures.
