Cultural Discovery Camp 2025

The Cultural Discovery Camp 2025 will be held at Tra Vinh University from April 4th to 6th, 2025. This exciting event promises to provide students from the Faculty of Foreign Languages at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education with a fantastic opportunity to enhance their English communication skills, explore local culture, and connect with students from Tra Vinh University.

Purpose of the Camp

The Cultural Discovery Camp 2025 offers more than just a chance to boost English proficiency. It is also an occasion for students from Tra Vinh University and Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education to interact and learn from one another. By participating in cultural exchange activities, students will not only sharpen their English communication skills but also develop their abilities in teamwork, presentation, and creativity. This camp is a unique opportunity to experience the rich cultural heritage of Tra Vinh. English will be the sole language of communication throughout the program, and sticking to this English-only rule is essential. Any violations will affect both individual and team assessments.

Main Activities

Over the three days of the camp, students will be split into groups of 4-5 members to collaborate on documentary film projects about Tra Vinh. The key activities include:

Teamwork and Filmmaking Workshop: Students will receive detailed guidance on working effectively in teams, along with techniques for filming and editing videos.
Tour of Tra Vinh University and Tra Vinh City: Participants will get to explore the Tra Vinh University campus and learn about the city of Tra Vinh.
Visits to Cultural Landmarks: This includes trips to Ang Ao Vuong Pagoda, the Khmer Culture Museum, the local market, the monument to Uncle Ho, the Stilt House, and Con Chim Island, where students can discover the region’s unique cultural values.
Video Screening and Awards Ceremony: Teams will showcase their documentary projects, with exciting prizes awarded by the organizers.

Participation Fees

Travel Costs: Fully sponsored by the Faculty, with a lecturer accompanying the group.
Accommodation and Tour Fees: 300,000 VND (covers accommodation and tours for all three days).
Meals: Students cover their own meal expenses (ranging from 25,000 VND to 40,000 VND per meal, depending on personal preferences).

Note: After registering, students must submit a 200,000 VND deposit to secure their spot. This deposit will be refunded immediately after the bus departs. Further details will be shared via email.
