HCMUTE’s Science-Technology and International Affairs Office has announced the application process for “Research for a Better Life 2020,” a competition organized by the university to encourage and honor its lecturers and students’ initiatives in solving such urgent problems as environment, community service and economic sustainable development.

Lecturers and students can join in the contest individually or as a group. For groups of student contestants, a lecturer’s supervision is required.

The contest includes 4 stages. In the qualification stage, 15 best projects will be chosen, with 10 from the lecturer category and 5 from the student groups.

In the research stage, each qualified project will be funded 100 million VND for the lecturer category, while each student project will receive 20 million VND, in order to conduct their research.

In the third stage - namely the awarding round,  they have to present their research reports to a contest council. Three best projects from each category will be awarded in cash.

In the final stage, the 6 winning projects will be implemented in reality within 6 months, with funding up to 1 billion VND for a lecturer project, and up to 200 million VND for a student project, depending on its quality.

To participate in the competition, contestants have to complete a proposal form and send it to the faculty by April 10, 2020 for the pre-qualification process.
