On December 6, 2024, the Faculty of Foreign Languages had the honor of welcoming Associate Professor Dr. Wanty Widjaja, Associate Head, School of Education, Faculty of Arts and Education, Deakin University, to visit and collaborate with the Faculty. This visit was part of the 2024 Lecturer Ambassador Program of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education. Prior to this visit, Dr. Nguyễn Vũ Thủy Tiên, a lecturer from the Faculty, had visited and worked at the Faculty of Arts and Education, Deakin University, in August 2024.

Taking part in this cordial reception were Associate Professor Dr. Lê Hiếu Giang, Acting President of HCMUTE; Dr. Đặng Tấn Tín, Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages; and lecturers from the Faculty of Foreign Languages. Associate Professor Dr. Lê Hiếu Giang expressed a desire to connect with lecturers from Deakin University to implement some courses at the institution and hoped for the development of more collaborative programs with Deakin University. Associate Professor Dr. Wanty Widjaja agreed to promote cooperation between the two universities in suitable disciplines.

Gift Presenting

This productive visit truly marked a solid beginning for future collaborations. Upcoming collaborations will include initial projects on research and publications with lecturers from the Faculty of Foreign Languages and the School of Education at Deakin University. This will be followed by short-term working opportunities for young lecturers from the Faculty of Foreign Languages to develop their professional expertise at Deakin University, along with student exchange programs between the two institutions.
